Head east on Interstate 90 towards Idaho. From the Washington/Idaho border, it is 49 miles to the first Kellogg Exit (#49, Bunker Avenue). Head south a quarter mile to the parking lot. You cannot miss it as the gondola passes over your head. It will normally take about 60 minutes to get to Silver Mountain from downtown Spokane. After leaving the lake resort town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, (elevation 2187 feet) you will climb over Fourth of July Pass (elevation 3081 feet), before dropping into the beautiful Silver Valley. |

Head west on Interstate 90 towards Idaho. At the border, Exit O, you will be at Lookout Pass (elevation 4725 feet). The Lookout Pass Ski Area parking lot is 200 yards from the I-90 offramp. Dropping into the Silver Valley, you will pass the towns of Mullan, Wallace, and Osburn before reaching Kellogg. The easiest access to the Silver Mountain gondola terminal will be if you take the last Kellogg exit, #49, Bunker Avenue, make left at the interchange and head south to the obvious parking lot.It is about 125 miles back to Missoula from Silver Mountain, so after a long day of winter fun, don't drive all the way home... spend the night in historic Wallace Idaho, only 12 miles east! |
